Providence College Friars (11-15): The Providence College softball team will host Fairfield in a non-conference double header on Saturday, April 19 at Raymond Field. The Friars are coming off a pair of losses (5-1, 10-1) against Notre Dame on Tuesday, April 15 in Providence. Providence was led by freshman Michelle Willette (Moorpark, Calif.) who went three for five with one RBI in the double header. Overall, she is second on the team in hitting with a .303 batting average while leading the team in doubles (seven) and slugging percentage (.487). Leading the team in hitting is freshman Elena Romero (Chula Vista, Calif.) with a .325 batting average. She also has a team-high 14 RBI and .378 on base percentage. On the mound, junior Cori Van Dusen (Riverside, Calif.) has a team-low 3.43 ERA while senior Melissa Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has a team-best 5-2 record.

Fairfield University Stags (18-20): The Stags travel to Providence, R.I. on Saturday, April 19 to face the Friars having won five of their last eight contests. Their most recent action came on Wednesday, April 16 at home when they split a double header with St. Peters, 0-1 and 6-3. Junior Diana Fasano (Hawthorne, N.J.) broke open the second game with a two-run double in a four-run bottom of the fifth inning for the Stags. Senior Ellen Sarosy (Howard Beach, N.Y.), freshman Tara Hansen (Chandler, Ariz.), junior Megan Miller (Modesto, Calif.), junior Laura Sandonato (Trumbull, Conn.), and Fasano each had two hits in the doubleheader to lead Fairfield. Sarosy leads Fairfield with a .376 average while Fasano is second with a .326 average. Sarosy leads the team in runs scored (28), while Miller has the team-lead in doubles (nine), home runs (three), and RBI (20). On the mound, senior Mellissa Santos (Pepperell, Mass.) has appeared in 20 games (17 starts) and has compiled a record of 10-7, with a 1.52 ERA to lead the Stags. Last season, Fairfield hosted Providence for a double header, defeating and tying the Friars, 6-5 and 2-2, respectively.
