PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College softball team (3-20, 1-7) will host St. John's (18-18, 3-5) a BIG EAST home series, on Saturday April 12 (double header) and Sunday, April 13 (single game). Saturday's games will start at noon and 2:30 p.m. and will be the team's Pink Out game. Sunday's game will begin at noon. The Red Storm is coached by former Friar great Amy Kvilhaug, who ranks first in the PC history in pitching appearances, innings pitched, games won, complete games and shutouts, along with one of only two perfect games in Friar history.
Sophomore Kiki Baldassari (Denville, N.J.) leads Providence with 23 hits on the year. Junior Kelsi Luttrell (Mission Viejo, Calif.) follows with 17 hits. Freshman McKall Miller (Ashburn, Va.) leads the team with nine RBI and four home runs. Junior Sarah Kitterman (Houston, Texas) has also tallied home runs, with three on the year. Sophomore Danielle Deraney (Shrewsbury, Mass.) leads the team in batting average at .406 in 15 games and 12 starts.
Freshman Taylor Huntly (Las Vegas, Nev.) has made 16 pitching appearances in 84.2 innings. She has fanned 42 batters on the year. Sophomore Kiara Amos (Malden, Mass.) has also made pitching appearances, with 39 strikeouts in 53.0 innings pitched.
St. John's is led by Erin Burner who has a team-high 45 hits and 27 RBI. Jackie Reed leads the team in batting average, at .406. Francesca Carrullo has a team-best 3.48 ERA in 16 appearances (48.1 Innings). Tori Free leads the team in strikeouts with 91 in 24 games played.
After the weekend series the Friars remain home to face non-conference opponent Fairfield on Tuesday, April 15. The first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
