The Providence College softball team (2-17, 0-5) will compete at Butler (12-20, 2-3) on Saturday April 5 (double header) and Sunday, April 6 (single game). Saturday's games will start at 12:00 p.m. ET and 2:30 p.m. ET while Sunday's game will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Sophomore Kiki Baldassari (Denville, N.J.) leads Providence with 17 hits on the year. Freshman McKall Miller (Ashburn, Va.) follows with 15 hits. Miller leads the team with eight RBI and four home runs. Junior Sarah Kitterman (Houtson, Texas) has also tallied home runs, with three on the year. Sophomore Danielle Deraney (Shrewsbury, Mass.) leads with team in batting average at .450 in 11 games and eight starts.
Freshman Taylor Huntly (Las Vegas, Nev.) has made 12 pitching appearances in 64.2 innings. She has fanned 37 batters on the year. Sophomore Kiara Amos (Malden, Mass.) has also made pitching appearances, with 32 strikeouts in 47.1 innings pitched.
Butler is led Sarah Gronowski and Brandyce Sallee, who have a team-best 26 hits on the year. Sallee and Chelsea Norwood have a team-high 17 RBI. Kristin Gutierrez leads the pitching staff with 19 appearances on the season for a 2.84 ERA and an 8-8 record. She has pitched in 101.0 innings and struck out 93 batters.
After the weekend series the Friars travel to nearby Storrs, Conn. to take on Connecticut on Wednesday, April 9, with the first pitch is set for 4:00 p.m.
