The Providence College softball team (0-15) will compete against Boston University (14-11) on Thursday, March 27. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. Providence and Boston University met earlier in the season (March 9), with the Terriers taking the game, 10-2 (6).
Sophomore Kiki Baldassari (Denville, N.J.) leads Providence with 16 hits on the year. Junior Kristie Dederick (Camarillo, Calif.) follows with 14 hits and freshman McKall Miller (Ashburn, Va.) has tallied 13 hits. Miller leads the team with eight RBI and four home runs. Freshman Taylor Huntly (Las Vegas, Nev.) has made 10 pitching appearances for a total of 54.1 innings. She has fanned 29 batters on the year. Sophomore Kiara Amos (Malden, Mass.) has also made pitching appearances, with 33.1 innings pitched and 25 strikeouts.
Before facing the Friars, the Terriers will face Bryant on Wednesday, March 26. BU enters the game with a 14-11 record on the year. Jayme Mask leads the Terries with 38 hits on the season. Brittan Clendenny has a team-best 15 RBI, while Brittany Younan has scored a team-high 24 runs. Makinna Akers leads the pitching staff with a 2.02 ERA in 14 appearances for a 4-2 record. Lauren Hynes has the most pitching appearances for the Terriers, 19, to go along with a 7-7 record and 4.03 ERA.
After Thursday's game, the Friars open up their home slate on Saturday, March 29 with a double header against BIG EAST foe DePaul and on Sunday, March 30 for a single game against the Blue Demons. The double header times are set for 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. First pitch for the single game is set for 11:00 a.m.
