PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team will play its first game at Raymond Field this season on Saturday, March 24 as the Friars host the Fairfield Stags in an afternoon doubleheader slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. The Friars
complied a 12-7 home record last season in 19 games.
Fairfield comes into the series at 10-10, having played the Friars twice already this season, splitting the games, while at the Towson Series Tournament earlier this month. The Friars are led by junior Jessie Bryant (Marlborough, Mass.) who leads the team with a .352 batting average, two home runs and a .519 slugging percentage. Bryant is also tied for the team lead in hits and RBIs with 19 and 12, respectively.
Senior Alicia Grosso (Baldwin, N.Y.) and junior Corinne Clauss (Davie, Fla.) each have two wins to lead the Friars so far this season. Grosso has pitched five complete games, while Clauss has picked up four.
