     PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College softball team will compete against Seton Hall (6-20) in its first BIG EAST match-up on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23. Saturday will be a double header with the game times set for noon and 2:30 p.m. First pitch for the single game on Sunday will be at noon.

    Junior Kristie Dederick (Camarillo, Calif.) leads the Providence with 13 hits. Sophomore Kiki Baldassari (Denville, N.J.) follows with 12 hits while freshman McKall Miller (Ashburn, Va.) has tallied 11 hits. Miller leads the team with 6 RBI and three home runs. Freshman Taylor Huntly (Las Vegas, Nev.) has made eight pitching appearances for 43.0 innings. She has fanned 22 batters on the year. Sophomore Kiara Amos (Malden, Mass.) has also made pitching appearances with 28 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts.

    Sophomore Yasmin Harrell leads the Pirates with a .333 average on a team-high 25 hits. Senior Meredith Henze has a team-best 15 RBI on 24. Henze also leads Seton Hall in runs scored with 12. Freshman pitcher Lauren Fischer leads team in ERA with a 5.57 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched. Junior Danielle Destaso has recorded a team-high 40 strikeouts in 43.2 innings.

    Former Friar Jen Abrams `12 will be in the opposing dugout as she is an assistant coach for the Pirates.
