Softball Drops Games Against CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. – The Providence College women’s softball team played two games against California State University – Northridge on Tuesday, March 6. The Friars lost both games to drop to 3-11 on the season.

 

GAME ONE NOTES:

­- The Friars dropped the game 5-0.

- Julianne Rurka (Warrenville, Ill.) and Brittney Veler (Santa Rosa, Calif.) both tallied hits for the Friars.

-Miranda Trinidad (La Habra, Calif.) was the pitcher of record for Providence, pitching two innings and giving up one run. Her season record drops to 1-5.

-Megan McCune (Orange, Calif.) pitched three innings allowing four runs and Olivia Sprofera (Mahwah, N.J.) pitched an inning allowing zero runs.

 

GAME TWO NOTES:

-Providence dropped the game 10-0.

-Emma Lee (Orange, Calif.) led Providence with two hits.

-Christina Ramirez (Niceville, Fla.) pitched 2.2 innings, allowing six runs, only one of which was earned. Her season record drops to 1-5.

-Sprofera also pitched, allowing three runs in 1.1 innings of work.

 

ON DECK:

Providence travels to Los Angeles, Calif to play at the LMU Tournament on March 8-10.
