Providence Softball Drops Season Finale Against DePaul

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence Softball team finished off its season series against the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday, May 6. The Friars dropped the season finale against DePaul with a score of 5-2. Providence finishes the season with a record of 13-32.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Providence started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Mackensie Compton (Langhorne, Pa.) hit an infield single to score Emma Lee (Orange, Calif.) to take a 1-0 lead.
- DePaul got a run back in the top of the second to tie the game at 1-1.
- The Blue Demons scored two runs in top of the third to take a 3-1 lead.
- DePaul extended its lead in the top of the sixth, scoring one run to make the score, 4-1.
- The Blue Demons scored again in the top of the seventh to make it a 5-1 game.
- Julianne Rurka (Warrenville, Ill.) hit a sacrifice fly to score Jackie Martin (Bridgeton, N.J.) and make the score 5-2.
- The Friars were unable to score again and would drop the game 5-2.
- Christina Ramirez (Niceville, Fla.) pitched a complete game for Providence. Her record on the season dropped to 7-15.
