Softball Wins Game One, Game Two Tied In 10th At Brown

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College softball team faced Brown University on Tuesday, May 1st in a doubleheader that the Friars won the first game and the two teams tied in the second game.

    PC senior Robyn West (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) picked up her seventh victory of the season by pitching in relief as the Friars defeated the Bears, 6-4, in game one. Freshman Cori Van Dusen (Riverside, Calif.) pitched the seventh inning for the Friars (23-26-1 overall) and earned her second save of the year.

    The two teams played to a 3-3 tie in the second game and played through 10 innings before the game was called because of darkness. Sophomore Amber Carr (Ventura, Calif.) hit her third home run of the season for the Friars.

    Providence closes the season on Sunday, May 6th when they travel to Blacksburg, Va. to face Virginia Tech University.
