ORLANDO, Fla. - The Providence College softball team was defeated by Lehigh University, 4-3, in the Friars' third game at the 2002 Rebel Games in Orland, Florida.

The Mountain Hawks won the contest in the bottom of the seventh inning, on a pair of singles put the winning run at third base and a passed ball plated the game-ending run.

The Friars (1-7) received a strong performance from sophomore pitcher Cori Van Dusen (Riverside, Calif.), who pitched 6.2 innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out eight. Freshman infielder Jaclyn Treveloni (Ashland, Mass.) led the PC offense with two of Providence's seven hits and drove in a run for the Friars.
