Providence Softball Defeats Canisius On Day Three Of UNF Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – The Providence College women’s softball team defeated Canisius 1-0 on Sunday, Feb. 18. With the victory, Providence improves to 3-7 on the season.

 

The scoring for Providence all came in the top of the 3rd inning. Jackie Martin (Bridgeton, N.J.) started the action with a double. Emma Lee (Orange, Calif.) also hit a double to drive in Martin and make the score 1-0.

 

The one run would be all the Friars would need as Megan McCune (Orange, Calif.) pitched seven shut out innings. McCune improves to 1-1 on the season with the win.

 

Providence returns to action for the Louisville Slugger Tournament in Stockton, Calif. on March 2-4.
