Women’s Soccer Players Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Regional Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – United Soccer Coaches announced its regional teams today (Nov. 29). Among the honorees of the Division I Women’s All-Midwest Team, junior Katie Day (East Kingston, N.H.) was named to the Second Team and classmate Kayla Steeves (Needham, Mass.) was named to the Third Team.

Day, who nabbed BIG EAST First Team honors in 2017, led the Friars defensively and helped the team to a fourth-consecutive BIG EAST Tournament appearance. She finished the season with six points on two goals and two assists.

Steeves has helped the Friars to three-consecutive winning seasons during her career. In 2017, she recorded five points on one goal and three assists on the season.

United Soccer Coaches serves as the recognized leader in naming All-Region and All-America soccer players. United Soccer Coaches selects All-America teams at every level of play. Nearly 800 players each year are named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and are invited to the convention to be honored at a special luncheon.
