Women’s Soccer Earns BIG EAST All-Tournament Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference announced today (Nov. 5) the 2017 BIG EAST All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the BIG EAST Championship game between Georgetown and Butler. Georgetown claimed the title of 2017 BIG EAST Champion in a 3-0 victory over Butler.

The Friars nabbed two spots on the All-Tournament team after a loss in the semifinal round on Thursday, Nov. 2 in Indianapolis, Ind. against Butler (3-0) on Nov. 2. Providence’s Katie Day (East Kingston, N.H.) and Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) were named to the All-Tournament team.

Day, a BIG EAST First Team member was selected to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team. The junior defender converted the Friars’ first penalty kick against DePaul in first round of tournament play on Oct. 29 to help the Friars advance to the semifinal round.

McNulty, finished her rookie campaign as the point-leader for the Friars (9) with three goals and three assists on the season. McNulty, a forward, scored the Friars’ lone goal of the tournament against DePaul on Oct. 29.
