Yale University Bulldogs (8-3-1)* - The Bulldogs come to Glay field for the first time since 1991. Before coming to face the Friars, Yale will host Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 26. Currently, Yale has a two-game winning streak with victories over Harvard (3-2) on October 19, and Fairfield (3-0) on October 22. The Bulldogs are currently ranked sixth in the latest NSCAA Northeast Region Top 10-Poll. They have been led this season by senior forward Chandra King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and freshman midfielder Laurel Karnes (Omaha, Neb.). The duo currently leads the team in points with 16 each. Karnes holds the team lead in goals (six), while King is second to senior midfielder Ali Cobbett (Wallingford, Conn.) in assists (four). Cobbett holds the team-high assist mark with six this season. Lindsay Sabel (Danbury, Conn.) has been in goal for Yale the majority of the season. The senior goalkeeper has a 0.96 goals against average which is second best among Ivy League keepers. Sabel also has recorded five shutouts this season. Yale and Providence have met nine times with the Bulldogs holding a 5-4 advantage. Yale Head Coach Rudy Meredith is in his eighth year and has a 3-0 record versus the Friars.

Providence College Friars (7-7-2) - Providence hosts Yale in a non-conference matchup on October 27 at Glay Field. The Friars are looking to rebound from a 1-0 defeat against eighth-ranked Connecticut on Wednesday, October 23. Before the game against Yale, the Friars will recognize the five seniors on the squad. This group includes backs Katie Auger (Putnam, Conn.), Emilie Comeau (Westerly, R.I.), Kristin Gardner (Trumbull, Conn.), Jackie Powers (Happauge, N.Y.), and midfielder Kyle McAuley (Trumbull, Conn.). The combination of Auger, Comeau, and Gardner are a constant presence in the Friar defense, while Powers adds depth to the defense. Offensively, the Friar seniors have been led by McAuley. She leads the group with three goals and six points. In her career, she has compiled a total of 25 points, which puts her in a tie for 17th place on the Providence career scoring list. As a group, this senior class currently has won a total of 27 games. This total is the most by a graduating senior class since the 1994 seniors. The seniors, along with the rest of the Friars, will look to avenge a 1-0 defeat at Yale last season. Providence last defeated Yale in 1991 (1-0), the last time the Friars hosted the Bulldogs.
