The Providence College women's soccer team was defeated by St. John's, 2-0, on Friday, October 10 in Jamaica, N.Y.

The Redstorm scored their first goal in the 29th minute when Dominica Reina scored on a feed from Holly Ryder. St. John's Natasha Lee added another goal in the 51st minute to ice the game. Senior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) made four saves as the Friars were outshot, 15-9.

With the loss, the Friars fall to 5-5-2 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play, while St. John's improves to 6-7-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the conference. Providence returns to action on Sunday, October 12 as they travel to Syracuse to take on the Orangewomen in a BIG EAST Northeast Division game at 1:00 p.m.
