Women’s Soccer Earns BIG EAST Recognition For Second-Consecutive Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women’s soccer players Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.), Katie Day (East Kingston, N.H.) and Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) earned BIG EAST recognition as announced by the league on Monday, Sept. 25. This marks the second-consecutive week the Friars have earned BIG EAST honors.

Hogan was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after recording her third-consecutive shutout against Villanova on Saturday, Sept. 23 (1-0). The goalkeeper has seen over 900 minutes of action over the Friars’ 10 games and collected 46 saves for a 0.807 save percentage on the season.

Day earned BIG EAST recognition for the second-consecutive week, she was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll along with McNulty on Monday, Sept. 25. Day has helped the Friars to four shutouts on the season and registered four points on one goal and two assists. McNulty was also named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring the lone goal in the Friars victory on Villanova on Saturday. The tally marked her second goal of the season and ties her as the point-leader for the Friars (5) with Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).

The Friars will return to BIG EAST action on Thursday, Sept. 28 in Cincinnati, Ohio against Xavier.
