University of Rhode Island Rams (2-3-0) - The Rams will see their first action since September 14 when they were defeated by Clemson, 2-0, in South Carolina. After starting the season with two home victories over James Madison and Northeastern the Rams have lost three in a row. In their three losses they have been outscored, 11-5. The Rams are led this season by senior Sarah Johnston who has netted a team-high five goals. Freshman Melissa Bargione has seen the majority of action in net for Rhode Island allowing 11 goals and posting a 3.39 goals against average and a .633 save percentage.

Providence College Friars (4-2-1/0-0-0) - The Friars were defeated for the second time this season on Friday, September 19, 2-0, by the Villanova Wildcats. Providence is 1-0-1 over the last two seasons against Rhode Island including a double overtime tie last season in Kingston, R.I. The Friars are led this season in scoring by junior Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) who has posted two goals and two assists for six points. Senior Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) has played every minute in goal this season for Providence posting four victories, all by shutout, and a goals against average of 1.11. The Friars will open their BIG EAST conference play on Wednesday, September 24 as they host Boston College at 4:00 p.m. at Glay Field.
