PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women’s BIG EAST soccer opener against the Connecticut Huskies on Friday, September 19 will be broadcast on Cox Sports TV and SportsNet New York. Cox will broadcast the game via tape delay on Saturday, September 20 at noon while SportsNet New York will show the game on Saturday afternoon at 4:30.

Mark Brown of ESPN International will be the lead play-by-play man during the event. He will be joined by former UConn Husky women’s soccer player, Jill Lafeur, who will provide the color analysis.

Cox Sports is the regional television home of Friar athletics. Headquartered in Lincoln, R.I., the network provides coverage throughout Rhode Island and parts of Connecticut. Cox will feature many Providence College athletic events throughout the year including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s hockey, and other Friar sports.

SportsNet New York (SNY) is the New York area’s home for BIG EAST athletics. Coverage stretches throughout the New York City area and into New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. It is shown on DirecTV (Channel 625) and DISH Network (Channel 438).
