Schmidt was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week last week for the second straight week. She became the first St. John's women's soccer player ever to earn BIG EAST weekly honors more than once in a season. In goal for the Red Storm is senior Tina Fogg (Warwick, R.I.). She has a goals against average of 1.19 and a save percentage of .789. Head Coach Ian Stone leads the Red Storm who have a 10-5-0 all-time record versus the Friars. Providence College Friars (3-1-2/0-0-0) - The Friars return home on September 20 after a 3-0 win at Marist College on September 15. This is the BIG EAST Northeast Division opener for Providence. PC is currently on a five-game unbeaten streak. During the streak, the Friars have outscored their opponents 10-5. In Providence's last win, against Marist, sophomore midfielder BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) scored two of the Friars' three goals. All seven of her points this season have come in the past two games. Along with the two goals against Marist, she recorded an assist on PC's only goal in a 1-0 win against Maine on September 13. Another Friar on a roll is PC goalie Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.). The junior has recorded two shutouts in a row and has made 10 saves in those two games.
