Senior BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) scored the first goal of the game from an assist by Kate Kearney (Glastonbury, Conn.) at 24:22. Quinnipiac evened the scored by the 31st minute, when Leisl Lissfelt fired a shot into the front of the net.

The Bobcats took the lead at the 39:28 mark, with a goal scored by freshman Kate Ahearn. The Friars would quickly recover in the second half, with B. Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) scoring the next two goals at 82:31 and 83:23. Senior Veronica Bakke (Alesund, Norway) would increase the Friar lead with an unassisted goal with 3:55 remaining in the second half. Laura Van Leeuwen's goal with 2:49 remaining, fell short of a comeback with the final score, 4-3.
 

 

Quinnipiac held the shot advantage 15-11, and lead on corner kicks, 4-2. BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.) set a career-high and tied a school record with three goals.

Freshman Laura Elfers (Deer Park, N.Y.) contributed with six saves and continues to lead the BIG EAST averaging over 5.50 saves per game.

Providence returns home in non-conference action versus Holy Cross on Sunday, September 12 at 1:00.
