Quinnipiac University Bobcats (0-1-0) - The Bobcats come to Glay Field on Friday, September 5 to play the second game of the season. In their opener against Massachusetts, the Bobcats fell, 2-1, as sophomore Claudia Castaneda scored the lone goal. Fellow freshman, goalkeeper Heather Zaccone played the entire 90 minutes and made three saves while allowing two goals. Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his fifth season at Quinnipiac with an overall record of 44-30-2. Last season the Bobcats fell to Providence at home by a score of 2-1.

Providence College Friars (1-1-0/0-0-0) - The Friars return home on September 5 after opening the season with road games at Rutgers and Holy Cross. On Friday, August 29 the Friars were defeated by the Scarlet Knights, 5-0, and then traveled to Worcester, Mass. on Sunday August 31, where they defeated Holy Cross by a score of 1-0. Junior Lauren Ritchie (Sayville, N.Y.) scored the lone goal for the Friars on an assist from freshman Erin Mastrodonato (Rochester, N.Y.). It was Ritchie's first goal of the season and Mastrodonato's first career point. Head Coach Tracy Kerr enters her fifth season at Providence with an overall record of 29-41-6. Last season the Friars advanced to the semifinal game of the ECAC Tournament before losing to Cornell 2-1 in penalty kicks.
