    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team returns home after spending the weekend on the road in North Carolina, to host Holy Cross on Wednesday, August 31 at 4:00 p.m. at Glay Field.

    The Friars are seeking their first victory after beginning the season with three-consecutive ties. In North Carolina, the team tied Davidson, 2-2, on Friday, August 26 and UNC Charlotte, 0-0, on Sunday, August 28. Senior Laura Di Clemente (Blue Bell, Pa.) leads the team in points with one goal and one assist, while senior Caitlin Walker (Metuchen,N.J.) has started all three games in goal. Seniors Courtney Collins (North Wales, Pa.) and Taylor Bartini (Suffield, Conn.) and sophomore Alyssa Martino (Plainville, Conn.) each have a goal for the Friars.

    HOLY CROSS (0-1): In the Crusaders' season opener, they fell to Hartford, 1-0. Although Holy Cross outshot Hartford, 12-8, the team could not capitalize on any of its attempts. Junior goalkeeper Ashlyn Angell ended the game with three saves.
