Women's Soccer Coach Jim McGirr Resigns

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll announced today Jim McGirr has resigned from the position of head coach of the women's soccer team at the College. McGirr served as the head coach of the women's soccer team for nine seasons.

"I appreciate all of Jim's efforts during his nine years at Providence College," Driscoll said. "He has worked hard to move the program forward. I want to wish Jim continued success in his future plans."

"I would like to thank Providence College for the opportunity they have afforded me for the past nine years," McGirr said. "I have had the privilege to coach some of the greatest student-athletes during my time here and I wish the program much success going forward."

The College will begin a national search immediately to fill the position.
