Women's Soccer Providence College Vs. West Virginia University

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- West Virginia University defeated Providence College, 1-0, Saturday, September 20 in BIG EAST women's soccer action at Providence, R.I.

Sophomore midfielder Tonia Deligiannis onetimed a pass from sophomore back Stacey Sollmann past PC goalkeeper sophomore Shayna Ross to net the only goal of the game at the 59:19 mark.

West Virginia goalkeeper Stacey Adams made five saves in the win. Ross recorded five saves for the Friars.

West Virginia improved its overall record to 6-1-0, 3-1 in the BIG EAST, while Providence dropped to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in league play.

The Lady Friars return to action on Monday, September 22 at 3:30 p.m. against Maine at PC's Glay Field.
