    Friars Shut Out 6-0

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College was shutout by Villanova, 6-0, in BIG EAST women's soccer action Friday, October 24 at Providence, R.I.

    Villanova's Kathy Minnich opened up the game by scoring two goals at the 13:12 and 16:21 mark. Maura McGhee netted the Wildcats' third goal at the 19:26 mark to go-ahead 3-0. Minnich recorded Villanova's fourth goal and her third of the game for a hat-trick at the 22:31 mark. Lauren Sellers scored the Wildcat's last two goals at the 53:07 and 60:54 mark. Villanova goalkeepers Jeanne Hennessy, Diana Anes, and Alica Nalevanko combined to make one save in the win. Providence College goalkeeper Shayna Ross made eleven stops in the loss.

    Villanova's overall record improved to 7-6-2 and 5-3-1 in the BIG EAST, while PC dropped to 4-9-2 overall and 0-8-1 in the BIG EAST.

    The Friars return to action on Sunday, October 26 against Rutgers at PC's Glay Field at 1:00 p.m.
