    Providence Blanked by UConn

    STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Connecticut shutout Providence College, 5-0, in BIG EAST women's soccer action on Tuesday, October 14 at Storrs, Conn.

    Connecticut's Chrisy McCann scored the game's first goal at the 1:57 mark. Carmie Ladeen netted UConn's second goal at the 2:16 mark to go-ahead 2-0. Marie Spinelli gave Connecticut a 3-0 lead when she scored at the 29:48 mark. Carlson scored UConn's last two goals of the game at 30:42 and 37:29 mark.

    Connecticut goalkeepers Jennifer Traw and Heather Stone each made one save in the win. PC's Shayna Ross registered 14 saves in the loss.

    Connecticut's overall record is now 13-1-0 and 8-0-0 in the BIG EAST, while Providence is 3-7-2 overall and 0-6-1 in the BIG EAST.

    The Friars return to action on Saturday, October 18 against Georgetown at 1:00 p.m. at PC's Glay Field.
