    Providence Gets First Big East Point

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College tied the University of Pittsburgh, 1-1, in BIG EAST women's soccer on Sunday, October 12 at Providence, R.I.

    Freshman midfielder Charity Kriley scored the game's first goal for Pittsburgh at 67:34 on a pass from freshman midfielder Charity McClure to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Freshman midfielder Melissa Crowley netted PC's game-tying goal at the 74:08 mark on a cross from freshman midfielder Jill Flanagan

    Providence goalkeeper Shayna Ross made seven saves in regulation and two in overtime. Nicole Bashor also recorded seven saves in regulation and three saves in overtime.

    Providence's overall record is now 3-6-2 and 0-5-1 in the BIG EAST, while Pittsburgh is 1-8-3 overall and 1-6-1 in the BIG EAST.

    The Friars return to action on Tuesday, October 14 against Connecticut at Storrs, Conn. at 3:00 p.m. at Providence, R.I.
