    Lady Friars Shutout Northeastern 5-0

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence freshman forward Melissa Crowley led the Friar offense with two goals and one assist for five points. Junior midfielder Karen Cammarata scored the game's first goal at 36:45 on a pass from junior midfielder Kelly McCusker.

    The Friars' next goal came from Jesse Ricardo at the 39:16 mark on a feed from Crowley. Junior forward Patricia Moore netted PC's third goal of the game at the 57:41 mark on a pass from freshman midfielder Jill Flanagan.

    The Friars' final two goals were scored by Crowley at 65:31 from junior back Kelly Galligan and at the 89:40 mark from Alexa Ricardo. Providence goalkeeper Shayna Ross made five saves in her first career shutout.

    Cindy Cochran and Rachelle Parkinson combined to record nine saves for Northeastern in the loss. Providence improved its overall record to 3-5-1, while Northeastern dropped to 4-4-2 overall.

    The Friars return to action on Saturday, October 4 against Seton Hall at PC's Glay field at 1:00 p.m.
