Chicago, Ill. - Sophomore forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) and junior forward Melissa Crowley (Duxbury, Mass.) each scored two goals to lead the Providence College Friars to a 4-0 win at Loyola of Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

Welsh got what would be the game winner just 35 seconds into the game as she scored on a header off a restart by Kim Carr (Jr., Hanover, Mass.).

Crowley got her first of the game at 13:08 as her shot from 18-yards out went off a defender past Ramblers' goalkeeper Katie Roland for her first goal of the season. Her second goal of the game and second of the year came just over four-and-a-half minutes later when she converted a crossing pass from midfielder Kyle McAuley (Fr., Trumbull, Conn.) to give the Friars a three-goal lead for their biggest scoring output of the season.

Welsh closed out the scoring at 34:20 off another restart by Carr. For Welsh, it was her fourth goal of the season.

Providence goalkeeper Shayna Ross (Sr., Whitman, Mass.) made six saves in recording her fifth shutout of the season. Loyola's Roland gave up all four goals while making four saves in the first half. Backup Stacey Fetterman played the second half making two saves.

The win improves Providence to 6-9-0 on the season, the most wins by the Friars since 1994. Loyola of Chicago falls to 3-13-1 on the season.

PC returns to action on Wednesday, October 27th when the Friars travel to New Hampshire for a 3:00 p.m. game.
