CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (October 13, 2004) -- The Providence College women's soccer team was shutout at Boston College, 4-0 on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Eagles improve to 10-4 on the season, while Providence falls to 4-11 on the season.

Freshman Tara Luciani offensively dominated play in the first half, scoring the first two goals of the game. At the 3:19 mark, Luciani netted her first goal with an assist from Heather Ferron and Maddie Johnson. At the 23rd minute, Luciani scored again as she pushed pass defenders outside the 18-yard box and released a quick shot past Providence goalkeeper Ashley Fedyshyn (Lincroft, N.J.). Katie McNeil added to Luciani's offensive effort with a goal at the 27 minute mark inside the six-yard box. Katie McGregor capped the Eagles' scoring night with a goal at the 75th minute.

Boston College outshot Providence 24-3, firing 12 shots in each half.

Fedyshyn leads the Friars as she recorded her 50th save of the season with an eight-save effort. Kate Taylor posted her 10th win of the season as she posted one save in the victory.

Providence returns to Glay field on Friday, October 22 as it hosts the Orange of Syracuse in Providence, R.I.
