Kim Carr's First Career Goal Gives PC 1-0 Win Over Maine

Providence, R.I. - Junior defender Kim Carr (Hanover, Mass.) scored the first goal of her Providence College career to lead the Friars to a 1-0 win over the University of Maine in non-conference women's soccer action Friday afternoon at Glay Field.

After a scoreless first half, Carr moved up from her defensive spot taking a feed from junior forward Melissa Crowley (Duxbury, Mass.) at the top of the box and drilled a shot under the cross at 63:01 for the lone goal of the game.

The Friars took 19 shots on Maine goalkeeper Naomi Ross who made seven saves in the game. PC's Shayna Ross (Sr., Whitman, Mass.) saw nine shots and made six saves for her third shutout of the season and the eighth of her career.

Providence returns to action on Friday, October 15th when the Friars host Villanova in a 12 noon game at Glay Field.
