The Providence College women's soccer team was defeated by Georgetown, 1-0, on Sunday, September 28 in Washington, D.C.

The Friars had a two-on-one broken up late in the first half, which would prove to be their best scoring chance of the day. Shara McNeill scored in the 95th minute to win the game for Georgetown. Senior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) made four saves as the Friars were outshot, 13-4

With the loss, the Friars fall to 5-3-2 on the season, while Georgetown improve to 4-6-0. Providence returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 as they face cross-town rival Brown University at 7:00 p.m. at Brown.
