Friars Shutout By Boston College, 4-0, In Women's Soccer Action

Providence, R.I. - Boston College freshman forward Morgan Page, a native of Westerly, Rhode Island, scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Eagles to a 4-0 win over Providence College at PC's Glay Field Saturday afternoon. Juniors Mary Guarino and Kristine Klagges also scored for the Eagles.

The win improved Boston College to 5-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the BIG EAST while Providence falls to 1-7-0 and 1-4-0 in league play.

Page scored both her goals in the first half. The first came at 15:20 as she headed a pass from Janice Collein past PC's junior goalkeeper Shayna Ross. Page notched her second goal at the 22 minute mark when she drilled a 10-yard blast off the crossbar and then far post to beat Ross for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Page then set up Guarino for her goal four minutes into the second half for her first assist of the season. On the year she has nine goals and one assist to lead the Eagles in scoring.

Boston College had 25 shots on goal to PC's seven. BC's sophomore goalkeeper, Courtney Schaeffer made five saves in the game. Ross stopped six shots for Providence.

The Friars are next in action on Friday, October 2nd when they travel to West Virginia for a 7:00 p.m. game.
