The Providence College women's soccer team defeated the University of New Hampshire, 1-0, Tuesday, September 25 at UNH's Lewis Field.

Freshman midfielder Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) scored the only goal of the game in the second minute. Robertson intercepted a clearing pass and fired a shot from 30 yards out past UNH goalkeeper Kristin Ouellette (Simsbury, Conn.) for her second goal of the season. Robertson leads the team in scoring with eight points.

The Wildcats outshot the Friars, 25-16, as Providence goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) made eight saves to earn her second shutout of the season. Ouellette stopped seven shots.

With the win, the Friars improved to 4-1-1, while the Wildcats dropped to 2-3-3.

The Friars return to BIG EAST action on Friday, September 28 as they travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for a 5:00 p.m. game against the Orangewomen.
