The Providence College women's soccer team was defeated by Villanova on Friday, September 19, 2-0.

The Wildcats got on the board in the 16th minute when Lindsey Finnegan tallied her third goal of the season. Providence battled hard throughout the game but allowed another goal in the 57th minute. Senior goaltender Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) made five saves as the Friars were outshot by the Wildcats, 16-7.

With the loss, the Friars fall to 4-2-1 on the season, while Villanova improve to 7-0-0. Providence returns to action on Sunday, September 21 as they host Rhode Island at 1:00 p.m. at Glay Field.
