Friars Fall To Quinnipiac 1-0 In Women's Soccer Action

Fairfield, Conn. - Freshman Lauren Carmody scored at the 38-minute mark for the only goal of the game as Quinnipiac College defeated Providence College, 1-0 in women's college soccer action.

For the Friars, the loss marked the second consecutive 1-0 shutout of the season.

Providence got off 15 shots in the game, but Quinnipiac goalkeeper Mary Kate Galusha made 12 saves in the game. Friars' goalkeeper, Shayna Ross (Sr., Whitman, Mass.) made six saves in goal for PC.

The loss drops Providence to 0-2 on the season while Quinnipiac is now 2-1 on the season.

PC returns to action on Friday, September 10th when the Friars travel to Rutgers to face the Scarlet Knights in a 7:00 p.m. game.
