Providence College Women's Soccer To Hold Futsal Festival and One-Day ID Clinic

The event will be put on by the Sam Lopes Soccer Leadership Academy.

Carlos Pinhancos embarks on his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Providence College women's soccer program.

Prior to his arrival in Providence in 2014, Pinhancos spent a year at the University of New Hampshire as the assistant coach under current Providence College Head Coach, Sam Lopes.

At UNH, Pinhancos helped mentor three Wildcats who earned America East post-season honors. Before UNH, Pinhancos was an assistant coach at Providence where he assisted in all facets of the women's soccer program.

Pinhancos was a volunteer assistant coach for the Rhode Island College men's and women's soccer teams. While at RIC, the 2005 men's soccer team won the ECAC championship. Pinhancos spent the following two seasons with the Community College of Rhode Island as the men's soccer assistant coach. Pinhancos was an assistant coach of the RIC men's soccer team for four seasons (2008-2011). The team won the Little East Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2008. He also helped guide the team to the Little East Conference Tournament for three consecutive seasons (2009-11).

Pinhancos has spent 13 seasons coaching club soccer at the Bayside FC Bolts. He is currently the Head Coach of U-17 Girls Team and Director of Goalkeeping at Bayside FC Bolts. Coach Pinhancos is also the founder and director of Elite Goalkeeper Academy.

Pinhancos played at the University of Rhode Island during the 1997-98 season. In the 1998-99 seasons he played for the Community College of Rhode Island where he earned All-New England and All-Region XXI Honors. While at RIC, Pinhancos played for three seasons as a goalkeeper. He played in 45 games, logging 4,157 minutes and finishing with a 1.19 career goals against average and was named All-Little East 1st Team.

Pinhancos is a 2001 graduate of Rhode Island College, where he received a B.A. in English and elementary education. He also has a master's in public administration from the University of Rhode Island.
