PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College women's ice hockey goalie Genevieve Lacasse (Scarborough, Ontario) has been selected to play for the Canadian Under-22 National Team in January at the MLP Cup. The event is an international tournament taking place on January 4-8 in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Lacasse joins Cornell's Amanda Mazzotta as the only two netminder's selected.
Lacasse recently played for the Under-22's in a three-game competition against the United States in August, winning both games she started. In September, she was selected to Hockey Canada's Evaluation Camp, the organizing body's first step towards selecting the National Team each year.
The Friar junior has started every game for Providence this season, collecting a record of 11-5-1.
