    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College sophomore goaltender Genevieve Lacasse (Scarborough, Ontario) has been named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week of November 9. Lacasse led PC to a pair of ties this weekend with 54 saves and a .947 save percentage. Lacasse gave up only three goals on the weekend.

    On Friday, November 6, Lacasse made 26 saves in a 2-2 tie at Maine. The sophomore goaltender finished the weekend with a 28-save performance in a 1-1 tie at home against No. 9 Northeastern. PC won the impending shootout, 2-1, as Lacasse stopped 12 of the 13 attempts. The 13-round shootout was the longest in league history.

    On the season, Lacasse has played 737:55 of a possible 746:26 minutes this season. She stands at 3-4-5 with a 1.87 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. Lacasse ranks third in the nation with 281 saves.

    Providence will take on No. 8 Boston University in a home-and-home series next weekend with game one at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14 at Agganis Arena in Boston, Mass.
