Gayle Shalloo Earns Louisville/ECAC Rookie Of The Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on Monday, November 6 that Providence College forward Gayle Shalloo (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was named the Louisville/ECAC Women's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week. Shalloo earned the accolade after recording two goals and one assist in ECAC action on November 4-5.

On Saturday, November 4, Shalloo led the Friars to a 4-1 victory over Yale at PC's Schneider Arena with one goal and one assist. The following day she notched a power-play goal as the Friars battled to a 4-4 tie versus Princeton.

Shalloo currently ranks second in scoring for the Friars with five points. The freshman right wing has tallied three goals and two assists as Providence has recorded a 3-0-1 record to open the 2000-01 campaign.

Shalloo, a graduate of the Promfret School, is the daughter of Jehuda and Sue Shalloo.
