Madison Myers Earns Hockey East Goaltender of the Month Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Junior Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) of the Providence College women’s ice hockey team was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month on Wednesday, Nov. 1. It is the first Hockey East monthly award of her career.

Myers currently holds a goals against average of 1.97 and a save percentage of .926. She ranks fourth in goals against average and sixth in save percentage in Hockey East. With a 6-2-2 record so far this season, she also ranks third in Hockey East in winning percentage (.700). This mark is good for 13th in the nation.

Most recently, Myers helped the Friars to a 2-0 weekend with back-to-back wins over No. 7 Northeastern (Oct. 28 and Oct. 29). The junior totaled 78 saves on the weekend, including a career-high 40 saves on Saturday. For her efforts, she was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 30.

The Friars return to action this coming weekend with a top-ten match-up at No. 2 Boston College. Puck drop is set for 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Conte Forum.
