Women's Hockey Hosts #8/9 Clarkson In Home Opener

VS. #8/9 CLARKSON

• The Friars will host #8/9 Clarkson at Schneider Arena on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12. Saturday's game will start at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday's game will begin at 3:00 p.m.

LAST MEETING

• Providence went 0-2-0 against Clarkson last year. The Golden Knights were ranked seventh when hosting the series.

• The Friars lost the first game of the series, 5-1, with Stephanie Demars scoring the lone PC goal.

• In the second game, Clarkson shutout the Friars, 4-0.

ALL-TIME RECORD

• Providence is 3-5-1 all-time vs. Clarkson, losing the last three.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS

• Clarkson enters the 2014-15 as the defending national champion. The Golden Knights defeated Minnesota, 5-4, in the NCAA Championship game while going 31-5-5 and winning the ECAC regular season crown.

• The Golden Knights currently rank eighth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and ninth in the USCHO.com Poll.

• Clarkson returns 14 lettermen (six forwards, five defensemen, three goaltenders) while losing seven (five forwards, one defenseman, one goaltender).

• The 14 lettermen include a NCAA Player of the Year, three 100-point scorers, a combined 551 (214-337) career points and the program's all-time winningest goaltender.

• Six newcomers will suit up for the Golden Knights.

• The Golden Knights have had three NCAA appearances (2010, 2013, 2014-National Champions) in program history.

• The first varsity hockey season at Clarkson was 2003-04.

• Nine of Clarkson's 11 seasons have been winning seasons.

• Defender Erin Ambrose earned First Team All-America honors in 2013-14, the third Golden Knight to be awarded All-America honors in the history of the program.

• The Golden Knights opened their season 1-1, losing to St. Lawrence on the road, 5-3, and winning at home, 2-1.

• MacAulay leads the team with three points on two goals and one assist.

• In goal, Shea Tiley has recorded 89.18 minutes in net, boasting a .941 save percentage and 1.34 goals-against average while going 1-1-0.
