Women's Ice Hockey Ranked No. 4 In Hockey East Preseason Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College women's hockey team was picked to finish fourth in the Hockey East preseason poll, as voted by league coaches. The poll was released during the leagues annual coaches media teleconference. Defending champion New Hampshire (50 points) was favored to win the league, receiving three first-place votes. Boston College was chosen to finish second receiving 47 points along with three first-place votes. Boston University landed in third with 46 total points. Providence received two first-place votes with 43 points to round out the top four.

Providence is in action on Saturday, September 26 with an exhibition game against McGill University. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Schneider Arena.

The Friars begin the regular season with a pair of league contests at home against Maine on Friday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. The second game will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Schneider Arena on Saturday, October 3.
