Providence Women's Hockey Goalie Genevieve Lacasse Wins First Game for Canada Under 22 Team

TORONTO, ONTARIO - Providence College goaltender Genevieve Lacasse (Scarborough, Ont) earned the opening victory for Team Canada in a three-game Under 22 Series with Team USA Tuesday. Lacasse stopped 29 of the 30 shots she faced, yielding only a breakaway goal to US Olympic veteran Monique Lamoureux at 5:12 of the third period.

The Friars also are represented on the United States Under-22 team. Senior Defenseman Amber Yung (Rockville, VA) is one of 22 players suiting up in red, white and blue.

The series continues with game two at Toronto's Mastercard Centre Thursday night (7:15 faceoff) and concludes Saturday night (7:15).
