PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Former Providence College women's hockey standout Amy (Carlson) Bourbeau has been named Head Coach at cross town rival Brown.

She becomes the second former Friar to take over a women's program this offseason. Jennifer Kranz '02 is now leading the College of St. Benedict.

Bourbeau skated for the Friars from 1992 to 1996. She compiled 64 points on 21 goals and 43 assists in 116 games played.

The Coventry, R.I. native has spent the last 14 seasons as the assistant coach of Princeton University. Earlier this year, the American Hockey Coaches Association recognized her with its inaugural Women's Assistant Coach Award.

The Friars and Bears will renew their Mayor's Cup rivalry this season on November 25. Face-off at Schneider Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. For tickets to this and all Friar home games, contact the Providence College ticket office at (401) 865 GOPC.
