Burzynski Added to Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association announced today (July 20) that Providence College women's hockey's Natasia Burzynski (Rye, N.H.) was added to the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team for earning a 4.0 GPA during the 2016-17 season. A total of 12 Hockey East student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs last season.

Burzynski also joined 10 other teammates - seniors Cassidy Carels (Bruxelles, Manitoba) and Lauren Klein (Shoreview, Minn.), Arianna Reid (Lakeville, Minn.) and Alanna Serviss (Chicago, Ill.), juniors Brooke Boquist (Thunder Bay, Ontario), Blair Parent (Blaine, Minn.), and Madison Sansone (Lockport, N.Y.), sophomore Kate Friesen (Altona, Manitoba), as well as freshmen Avery Fransoo (North Battleford, Saskatchewan) and Clare Minnerath on the 2016-17 All-Academic Team.

In total, a record 124 student-athletes across the league achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during the 2016-17 season.
