Women’s Hockey Places Thirteen On Hockey East All-Academic Team

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – It was announced by the Hockey East Association on Thursday (June 30) that 13 Providence College women’s hockey players were named to the 2015-16 All-Academic Team. 

Seniors Sarah Bryant (Bethlehem, Pa.), Courtney Kukowski (Apple Valley, Minn.), Allie Morse (Cottage Grove, Minn.), Lexi Romanchuk (San Jose, Calif.), and Brittney Thunstrom (Coon Rapids, Minn.), juniors Ariana Buxman (Glenwood Springs, Colo.), Cassidy Carels (Bruxelles, Manitoba), Kendra Goodrich (Apple Valley, Minn.), Lauren Klein (Shoreview, Minn.), and Arianna Reid (Lakeville, Minn.), and freshmen Natasia Burzynski (Rye, N.H.), Kate Friesen (Altona, Manitoba), and Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) all earned All-Academic honors,

Bryant and Romanchuk were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in all four seasons of their careers, while Kukowski earned her third All-Academic Selection. Carels, Goodrich, Klein, Morse, and Thunstrom all earned their second career selection.

In total, 126 student-athletes across the league achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during the 2015-16 season.
