Twelve Members Of The Women's Ice Hockey Team Named to Hockey East All-Academic Team

WAKEFIELD, Mass. -

A total of twelve women from the Providence College women’s ice hockey team were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team on Friday, June 27.

Graduate student Janine Weber (Innsbruck, Tirol, Austria), seniors Nina Riley (Lexington, Mass.), Maggie Pendleton (Woodbury, Minn.), Rebecca Morse (Westfield, N.J.) and Stephanie Demars (Vermontville, N.Y.), juniors Brooke Simpson (Boxborough, Mass.), Suzie Lundeen (Minneapolis, Minn.), Haley Frade (Marion, Mass.) and Allison Micheletti (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) and sophomores Courtney Kukowski (Apple Valley, Minn.), Lexi Romanchuk (San Jose, Calif.) and Sarah Bryant (Bethlehem, Pa.) were all named to the team.

Bryant, Frade, Micheletti, Morse, Pendleton, Romanchuk and Simpson have been named to the team in the past. Riley was also noted as a distinguished scholar for achieving a 3.0 or better in each semester over four varsity seasons.

To be named to the All-Academic Team, each student-athlete needed to achieve a grade-point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which she was actively competing in the 2013-14 season.
