2017-18 Women's Hockey Schedule
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women’s hockey Head Coach Bob Deraney announced today (June 13) the program’s 34-game schedule for 2017-18. The 34-game slate features 16 home games to be played at Schneider Arena and five contests against schools that appeared in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
After an exhibition game against Laurentian University on Sept. 23, the Friars will open the 2017-18 regular season on the road at Union on Sept. 29, before returning home to host Vermont on Oct. 1, in the Hockey East opener and a rematch of last season’s Hockey East Quarterfinal series.
Providence takes on Quinnipiac in a home-and-home series from Oct. 6-7 prior to back-to-back road series at Syracuse (Oct. 13-14) and Princeton (Oct. 20-21). The Friars conclude the month of October with a home-and-home set against Northeastern from Oct. 28-29.
November kicks off with road games at Boston College (Nov. 3), Maine (Nov. 10), and Merrimack (Nov. 17). The Friars return home to conclude the home-and-home set with Merrimack on Nov. 18, beginning a four-game homestand that also includes New Hampshire (Nov. 22) and a pair with Cornell (Nov. 25-26).
The first half of the schedule concludes with a home-and-home series against UConn (Dec. 1-2) and a Saturday afternoon tilt with Boston University on Dec. 9.
A busy January begins with the Mayor’s Cup against Brown on Jan. 2, followed by a weekend road series at Vermont (Jan. 6-7). The month rounds out with a home-and-home against Boston University (Jan. 12-13), a road trip to New Hampshire (Jan. 19-20), and a home-and-home with Boston College (Jan. 26-27).
Providence concludes the regular season slate vs. Merrimack (Feb. 2), at UConn (Feb. 3), vs. Maine (Feb. 10-11), and vs. Northeastern (Feb. 18). The Hockey East Quarterfinal round runs from Feb. 23-25 in a best-of-three format, followed by single-game Semifinal and Championship contests taking place on March 3 and March 4, respectively.
