Senior Kelli Halcisak honored by the R.I.A.I.A.W. for Providence College

Providence College senior ice hockey standout, Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) was named the Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics For Women (R.I.A.I.A.W.) Distinguished Student-Athlete of the Year. Halcisak will be honored at a reception, held on the campus of the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) in Warwick, R.I. on May 5 at 5:00 p.m.

Halcisak enjoyed her best season in 2003-04 as a Friar, tallying career highs in goals (20) and points (46). Halcisak played a critical role as the Friars captured their second consecutive HOCKEY EAST Tournament title. Halcisak was named a First Team All-American, a HOCKEY EAST Second Team All-Star and a New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star. Halcisak earned the 2004 team's Most Valuable Player Award for the second consecutive season and the team Academic Award. In 2002-03 Halcisak was named the College's Female Athlete of the Year for team sports. Halcisak earned 2002 ECAC First Team All-Star honors.

Halcisak is a marketing major and is the daughter of Tom and Anne Halcisak of Grosse Ile, Mich.
